Ackley, Pamela S. Pamela S. Ackley passed away October 31, 2010 at her home in Dallas, TX. Pam was born May 13, 1951 in Hutchinson, KS to Bob & Freda Rush. She graduated from Wichita State University in 1973. She married the love of her life, John, June 21, 1975 and moved to Dallas in July of the following year. She became a High School English Teacher at Bishop Lynch H.S. in 1978, where she also served as head of the English Department until leaving in 1984. As an active member of University Park United Methodist Church, Pam was much involved with her Wesley Covenant Group and she was a member of the Dallas Museum of Art and Women of Water Tower Theatre. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Milo Rush. Pam is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John Ackley; sons, Robert E. Ackley & James T. Ackley; granddaughter, Brooklyn Ackley and many friends and cousins. Pam was an energetic loving woman who loved her family and community. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at University Park United Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75225, with Rev. Leighton Bearden officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests any donations are made to: UPUMC Building Campaign, mailed to the above address.

ACKLEY, John John passed to Life Eternal June 9, 2017. John was a proud father and husband, survived by sons Robert Ackley and James Ackley of Dallas, Texas as well as Granddaughter Brooklyn Ackley and Daughter in Law Aly Moore. John was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife Pamela Ackley. John was born November 21,1951 in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Friends University in 1971. Upon graduation John moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma before settling in Dallas, Texas in 1974. John enjoyed a successful business career eventually opening Ackley Financial Group until semi-retirement in 2014. John was larger than life who never met a stranger and was best friend to many. John was an avid hunter, world traveler, fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and enjoyed golf with his friends at Bent Tree Country Club for 38 years. Family burial at Sparkman Hillcrest June 16 at 10:00am Memorial at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church June 16th at 3:00pm Online condolences can be made at www.sparkman-hillcrest.com
