*Obituary for Velma
Funeral services for Velma Freeman Gillespie, Borger, will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Archie Echols, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Gillespie died Friday, Oct. 21, 1994 in Ware Memorial in Amarillo.

A native of Jonesboro, La. and moved to Borger in 1946 with her husband, Wade. He died in 1989.

She was a retired Borger High School teacher, a member of First United Methodist Church, and member of the Women's Guild. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Music Club.

Mrs. Gillespie received a bachelor of arts degree and bachelor of science degree in science and math from Louisiana Tech.

Survivors include her twin sister, Zelma R. Root, of Amarillo; two sons; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Freeman Foundation c/o Don Braden.
