CERVENKA, EDWARD LEE, Age 79, died February 4, 2008, after a long battle with cancer and Alzheimer's. He was born August 22, 1928, in West, Texas. In 1949, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and moved to Cape May, N.J., where he served for 3 1/2 years as a Court Marshal. He then moved to Dallas, where he met Carolyn Marie Adams, whom he married in 1963. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for more than 40 years, and served as an usher. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Cervenka; daughter Ann Pask, son-in-law John Pask and grandchildren Rachel and Eric Pask of Dallas; daughter Karen McClure, son-in-law Tom McClure and grandchildren Lauren, Erica and Audrey McClure of Rutland, Vt.; brothers Bob Cervenka of Waco, Texas, and Ray Cervenka of Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Avenue, Dallas, 75214. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 1 p.m. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas (214) 363-5401
