GAUSE CITIZEN IS FOUND DEAD
-------------
L. G. Hafley, 63 is Found Near Home, Victim of Heart Attack Tuesday Afternoon
-------------
L. G. Hafley, 63, of Gause, was found dead about 1 a. m. Wednesday morning in the woods about a mile from his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Hafley lived about one mile from Gause on the Hanover road. Relatives said he left home Tuesday afternoon around two o'clock and when he had not returned late in the evening they became worried and started a search. The body of Mr. Hafley, unclothed except for one shoe, was found about 1 o'clock that night in the woods near his home. His clothing was rolled up beneath his arm, it was said.
No foul play was suspected, and Justice W. E. Thomas of Gause rendered a verdict of death by natural causes with relatives believing that a heart attack was responsible for the aged man's death. The time of his death was estimated to have been about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
Funeral services are being held at Gause this afternoon. Mr. Hafley is survived by his wife and several children. He was a native Milam county citizen, highly esteemed in his community.
