Mr. De Leon was born October 13, 1985 in Lamesa, Texas to Dora (Castillo) and Roger De Leon. He worked in the oilfield and was a hardworking man. He grew up in Seminole with a group of friends that called him brother. He attended and played football for Eastern New Mexico University in Portales where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Education. He enjoyed Tejano and Country music. He loved to dance and was known for being a master on the barbeque grill. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he had a heart of gold; he extended his kindness to everyone. Roger had an infectious smile and laugh; most would say that they never saw him have a bad day. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose. Roger would also want everyone to know and remember that Dez caught it!

Roger De Leon passed away in Odessa due to a car accident on Sunday, January 24, 2021. He is survived by his parents, Dora and Roger De Leon of Seminole; three sisters, Liza Hensley and husband Shane, Ruby De Leon and Josh Little, and Ashley De Leon, all of Seminole; two nieces, Clarissa Gomez and Brianna Zapata; and five nephews, Daimyan Zapata, Aidan Garza, Jeremiah McClain, Joshua and Ethan Little, all of Seminole.
