Obituary for James
Graveside services for James Allen “J.A.” Lytle, age 79 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole with Leo Copeland officiating. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

James was born April 1, 1938 in Weatherford, Texas to Willie Essie (Campbell) and James Andrew Lytle. He married Christine Williams on August 24, 1963 in Seminole. James was a graduate of Seminole High School in 1957. He started his career as a farmer and after that he was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation in Seminole, retiring as a foreman after 30 years of service. James loved to be Santa Claus; he also enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and in his RV, and building anything. He was Santa Claus to Seminole youngsters for many years. James cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren, and was loved by many. James was a loyal and honest man and a fierce friend. One of his greatest assets was his big heart – helping people in need.

J.A. Lytle passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence in Seminole, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Forest Lytle. He is survived by his wife, Christine Lytle of Seminole, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Howell and husband Jon of Lubbock, Texas and Donna Roache of Littlefield, Texas; one sister, Lanelle Smith of Denver City, Texas; three grandchildren, Tiffany Britton of Wolfforth, Texas, Kacee Murray of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Zane Howell of Rochester, New York; and four great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Gertrude
Graveside services for Christine Lytle, age 79 of Seminole, Texas will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Dean Boyer officiating. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lytle was born April 30, 1941 in Booneville, Arkansas to Vera (Beckett) and Samuel Williams. She married J.A. Lytle in Seminole, Texas on August 24, 1963. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. Christine was an incredibly unique and strong woman, always willing to help people and was known as a great neighbor.

Christine Lytle passed away January 25, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Littlefield, Texas. She is preceded in death her parents; her husband, J.A. Lytle in 2018; one brother and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Howell and husband Jon of Lubbock, Texas and Donna Roache of Littlefield: five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
