*Obituary

Wyll, Dorothy June Bachrack Dorothy June Bachrack Wyll was born June 2, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY to Anna and Philip Bachrack. She was the oldest of three children followed by sister Eleanor and brother Charles. At the age of two the family moved to Houston. As a teenager, Dorothy moved to Dallas to study voice with a private vocal coach at SMU while finishing high school. After graduation, Dorothy sang with a band sometimes traveling but mostly staying close to home as her father wasn't too keen with her traveling with an all-male band. At a high holiday service she met the love of her life, Esir Wyll. They married a short time later and Esir left to go overseas after just a few months of married life. He was gone for four long years and, upon his return, they soon settled in his hometown of Dallas. They then welcomed their son Gene who was followed 3 Â 1/2 years later by their daughter Eileen. Dorothy was very active at Tiferet Israel where she was president of the sisterhood and starred in many musical productions at the synagogue. Dorothy June was the consummate at-home mom taking care of her 2 children and later doting on her 4 grandsons. After her children were grown and married she turned once again to her love for music and singing. She starred in various productions sponsored by the JCC Senior Singers and performed solo at many family celebrations where she received enthusiastic standing ovations. In 2003, after 60 loving years together, Esir passed away and Dorothy lost her biggest fan. Thus began a new chapter in her life. She made new friends at Town Village, spent time with her family, and continued to make her famous matzo ball soup and chopped liver for the holidays. She loved novels, both romance and family sagas, old movies and watching "Dancing with the Stars" with the girls at Town Village. A proud and independent woman, she remained active until the last few months of her life. She is survived by Gene and Joanie Wyll, Eileen and Jack Scheib, grandsons Jeff, Michael, Jason and Jared, sister Eleanor, brother Charles and his wife Joanne and various nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Arnold Kassanoff, Dr. Charles Levin and his assistant Susan, Shirley Davidoff and her assistant Tracy, and Dr. Kim Fellman for all their care over the years. The family requests any donations be made to Jewish Family Services or the organization of your choice. Mom, MawMaw, Dorothy June - we love you and we'll miss you. Funeral arrangements are pending at Sparkman-Hillcrest 214-363-5401.
