Irene Higgins, 83, died Saturday, May 31, 1997 in Golden Plains Community Hospital of Borger..

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Jefferson County, Arkansas, she had been a Borger resident for 60 years.

She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Higgins in 1964.

Survivors include one son, Mike Higgins of Grapevine; two daughters, Elaine Cleek and Patty Higgins, both of Borger; two sisters, Maudie Yoder of Borger, and Violet Adams of Deming, N.M.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, Box 2782, Pampa, Texas 79065.

The family will be staying at 1401 Marigold and 105 Warwick.
