SANFORD - E.L. "Bud" Hollar, 78, died Wednesday,, Sept. 20, 1995 in his home.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

A native of Aubrey, Texas, he had been a Sanford resident since 1946. He was a lab technician for Phillips Petroleum Company.

Mr. Hollar was a Primitive Baptist, and a member of Local 351 of Operating Engineers.

He married Jessie Marie Hasley on June 5, 1972 in Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in 1995 and a stepson in 1981.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Hollar of Fritch; two step-sons, Dale King of Stinnett; and Charles King of Sulphur, La.; a daughter, Charlotte Beedle of Battle Mountain, Nev.; two stepdaughters, Sue Price of De Valls Bluff, Ark.; and Violet Kern of Jacksonville, Ark.; a sister, Thesta Lundegreen of Amarillo; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sanford Brick Fund, Box 68, Sanford or Hospice of the Panhandle, 300 S. McGee, Borger, 79007.

Obituary for Arlie
SANFORD - A 59-year-old woman was found shot to death in her home here shortly after noon Saturday. Mrs. E.L. Bud Hollar was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Sam Watson.

Judge Watson said the woman had been shot once with a small caliber pistol. The gun was laying nearby. Judge Watson ruled death was caused by self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies from the Hutchinson County Sheriff's department were called to the scene of the shooting about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Deputies C.A. Haren and Jack Peoples conducted the investigation of the shooting.

Judge Watson said Mrs. Hollar was found by her granddaughter. She was lying on her bed when officers arrived at the Hollar home, which is located just off Farm Road 1319 behind a combination grocery store and gas.

Funeral services for Arlie Hollar will be announced by Simpson's Funeral Home.

She was a resident of this area for the past 24 years, and was born Dec. 24, 1912 in Savoy, Tex.

Mrs. Hollar was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Borger.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Ronald of Taylor; two daughters, Mrs. Charlote Hurley of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Levada Burdette of Sanford; two brothers, Alvin Hicks and Olace Hicks, both of Clarendon; two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Phares of Savoy and Mrs Opal Griffin of Snyder; and eight grandchildren.
