The Wellington Leader August 30, 1979

A former Wellington man, Odie Wade Hood, 61, of Fritch died Friday, August 3.

Mr. Hood was born at Lipan and had lived in Fritch 35 years, working for Phillips Pipeline Co.

He was a member of Johnson Park Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge 1242. He and his wife, the former Nora Lee Brooks, were married here in 1937.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Charles Hood of Richardson and Dennis Hood of Borger; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Karr and Mrs. Peaches Hood of Borger; three brothers, Orville Hood of Hurley, N.M., Floyd Hood of Amarillo, and Dewey Hood of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Johnson of Chelsea, Okla., Mrs. Yueton McHaffey of Lordsburg, N.M., and Virginia Camp of Pittsburg, Calif., and 9 grandchildren.

Nora Lee Hood, 77, Borger, died Saturday, July 13, 1996 in St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

Family visitation will be from 7-9 pm. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Keeler Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Green, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

A native of Granite, Okla., she had been a Borger resident for 52 years. She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie Wade Hood on Aug. 3, 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Hood of Garland; and Dennis Hood of Borger; two daughters, Karen Karr of Borger; and Peaches Hood of Duncan, Okla.; a brother, I.A. Brooks of Shamrock; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
