WICHITA FALLS - S. Joe Hooper, 58, Wichita Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 1990.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls with the Rev. Howard Chapman, senior minister, officiating.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Borger with Strauss Atkinson, retired High Plains Baptist Missionary, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger. Members of the Southwest Rotary Club of Wichita Falls and the Fishers Mens Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls will be honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Hooper was born in Elk City, Okla., June 20, 1932. He graduated from Borger High School, and received an Associate Degree from Frank Phillips Junior College, and a BBA and MBA from West Texas State University.

He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, being discharged with the rank of sergeant. After moving to Canyon, he served as the Business Manager at West Texas State University from 1957 to 1969. In 1969 he assumed the position of vice president for Business Affairs and Operations at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He was elected to serve as President of the Texas Association of State Senior College and University Business Officers in 1983. He retired from Midwestern State University in 1984.

Mr. Hooper was a member of the Southwest Rotary Club, and a former member of the United Way Allocation Committee, SCORE, and North Texas Field and Stream. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.

He married Linda Caroline Turner in 1951.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Kelly Hooper to Dallas; a daughter, Leah Hooper of Amarillo; his mother, Helen Hooper of Borger; a brother, Don Hooper, of Borger.

The family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
