**Obituary for Nelva
Nelva J. Welch, 80, of Paris passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Saturday March 15, at 10:00 a.m. with Elder Harley Stripland and Elder Jimmie Stripland officiating. Burial will follow at Read Hill Cemetery in New Boston, Texas at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 7-8 p.m.

Nelva was born May 1, 1933 in Wheeler County, Texas a daughter of Pearl Miller and Viola Higgins Miller. She married Troy Welch Dec. 7, 1950 in Shamrock, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Enon Primitive Baptist Church in New Boston.

Mrs. Welch and her husband farmed and ranched in the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma from the time of their wedding until 1978. For much of this time they lived near Sunray, Texas where their five sons attended and graduated from Sunray schools. The Welch's moved to Avery, Texas in 1978 and farmed and ranched there until Mr. Welch's death in 2008. Mrs. Welch lived at the Colonial Lodge Retirement Center in Paris from 2009 until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her husband Troy, her parents; brothers Wilburn and Arlen Royce Miller.

She is survived by 5 sons and their spouses Jim and Carolyn Welch of McKinney, Ronnie and Pam Welch of Dumas, Mike and Regina Welch of New Boston, Joe and Chris Welch of Lubbock, Bill and Rhonda Welch of Paris; grandchildren Matt Welch and wife Brynn, Robert Welch and wife Misty, Lyssa Welch, Jade Welch, Gillian Welch, Emily Welch, Miranda Welch and Elizabeth Welch; 6 Great Grandchildren; a brother William Miller and wife Lynn of Chandler, OK.; sisters Laverne Lewis of Colorado Springs, CO, Dell Piccoli and husband Joe of Bakersfield, CA, Cheryl Garcia and husband Rick of Oklahoma, sister-in-law Mickey Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matt Welch, Robert Welch, Josiah Welch, Russell Forsyth, Jacob Moya, Ed Stephenson, Hud Raney and Tommy Stripland.
