FRITCH - W.C. "Claude" Jenkins, 89, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fritch Church of Christ with Richard Kasko, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Claude was born Jan. 5, 1922, at Flippin, Ark., to Roscoe and Goldie George Jenkins. He graduated from Wetumka Oklahoma High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation machinist's mate second class. He married Audie Mae Hicks on Sept. 14, 1946, at the Second and Deahl Street Church of Christ in Borger.

Jenks retired from Phillips Petroleum Co., where he was an electrician at the refinery and then a mechanic at the Philtex Plant from 1947 until 1984.

Mr. Jenkins lived in the Borger and Fritch area since 1946, and was a member of the Fritch Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister; and a son, Randy Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife, Mae of Fritch; a son, Allen Jenkins and wife Karla of Borger; a daughter, Patsy Harbin and husband Rocky of Fritch; six grandchildren, Travis Harbin and wife Kelly, Danny Harbin and wife Kimi, Greg Jenkins and wife Kelly, Melissa Jenkins, George Jenkins and wife Jessica and Wendy Tjepkes and husband Delwyn; and 14 great- grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118.
