FRITCH - Benjamin Harold Karber, 84, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Borger.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Mr. Karber served 43 months of sea service in the Navy during World War II, surviving the sinking of the USS Brilliant. He married Lois Ruth Hutson on Jan. 24, 1946, in Liberal, Kan.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Karber of Fritch and Harold Karber of Kingfisher, Okla.; a daughter, Betty Barber of Burkburnett; two brothers, Jim Karber of Lubbock and Robert Karber of Fort Smith, Ark.; three sisters, Daisy Kennel of Missouri, Ruth Hutson of Bayview and Vonita Barnes of Eufala, Okla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Southern Baptist Church family life building fund, P.O. Box 358, Fritch, TX 79036.
