Obituary for Nolan
Nolan C. "Smokey" Lanham, 70, of 317 Monroe, died Saturday at his home.

A retired pipefitter, he was a longtime area resident, coming to Borger in 1932 from Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Gateway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Dale Griffin, pastor of the Central Baptist Church at Carthage, Tex., officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. William Hobson, pastor of the church. The casket will be open only at Simpson's.

Masonic graveside rites will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the auspice of Isom Masonic Lodge 1242. Burial will be by Simpson's Funeral Home.

He was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church and Isom Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include three sons, Carroll of Amarillo, John C. of Dumas, and Kenneth of Borger; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Dwiggins of Phoenix and Mrs. Barbara DeMoss of Borger; one brother, E.V. of Fritch; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Lindley of San Antonio, Mrs. Hildred Flowers of San Jose, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jay Brown, Roy Holland, J.C. Stafford, Gene McGough, Warren Rodgers and Cal Yake.

Final rites for Mrs. Gladys Lanham, 61, of 317 Monroe, are at 2 p.m. Thursday from Gateway Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Griffin, Atoka, Okla., officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. William S. Hobson, pastor.

Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park will be directed by Simpson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lanham died Monday. She is survived by her husband, N.C. Lanham, three sons, two daughters, four brothers, sister, and 14 grandchildren.

Casketbearers are Claude Robinson, Elbert Snider, I.L. Burrell, E.D. Barrowman, Ray Brooks and Alfred Williams.
