Freeport (TX) Facts, February 20, 1931, p. 1
Mrs. Mary Oliver, aged 79 years passed away Friday morning 12:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sallie Hargrove, on First Street.
Deceased had been an invalid for a long time and bed-fast for about eight-months. She was born in Tennessee in 1852, and moved to Texas 49 years ago. Her husband, R. V. Oliver, died at Marlin, Texas, in 1926. She was a life-long member of the Baptist church and a consistent Christian.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Sallie Hargrove, Freeport, and Mrs. Nancy Briggs, Marlin; four sons, Robert Oliver, Marlin, Will Oliver, Freeport, Dan Oliver, Anson; Joe Oliver, Winters. Twenty-one grandchildren survive, five of whom live in Freeport, W.E., S.T., R.T., R.O. and Miss Vera Hargrove. Seven great-grandchildren survive, five of whom reside in Freeport; Elbert, Jr., Roy, William, Marie and William Hargrove.
The remains were prepared for burial by Freeport Undertaking Co. and sent to Marlin Friday night for burial. Interment will be made in the family plot in McClanahan Cemetery Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
