*Obituary
A Borger man was killed late Saturday night when he jumped from a moving vehicle and was struck by two other vehicles.

Tony Lucero, 37, was a passenger in the 1992 Chevrolet Camero driven by his wife, Terri Lucero, when the accident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Texas Highway 136, less than a mile west of Borger, according to a Department of Public Safety spokesperson.

According to the DPS report, Lucero and his wife, Terri Lucero, driver of the Camero, became involved in a domestic dispute and he jumped from the vehicle into the path of a westbound vehicle on the same highway.

The first vehicle that struck Lucero did not stop. The second vehicle, a 1989 Dodge Daytona driven by Matthew Hatfield of Borger, also struck the pedestrain [sic] on the highway, and stopped to render aid, according to the report.

Officials are searching for the driver of the first vehicle, who failed to stop and render aid. The vehicle is described as a Red Chevrolet Blazer.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Lucero was born in Borger, and was a lifetime resident. He was employed by B&C Well Service, and was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ.

He married Terri Smith Aug. 4, 1989 at Borger.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Lucero.

Survivors include his wife of the home; his father, Tony Lucero; his mother, Nina Lucero of Borger; two sons, Dominic Euge Lucero of Borger; and Derrick Anthony Lucero of Fritch; two step-daughters, Debbie Jones and Jennifer Jones, both of the home; two brothers, Michael Lucero of Fritch; and Freddie Lucero of Amarillo; two sisters, Louisa Winkle of Fritch; and Evelyn of Pampa.
