*Obituary

Betty Marie “Maw” Konvicka, 84, of Manvel went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Maw was born on August 27, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents Jewel Sikes and Delsie Ferguson. She attended The Church of the Harvest in Manvel where she met her very close friend Virginia. Throughout the years, Virginia and Maw were inseparable; taking many trips together and spending every holiday with family. Maw loved serving her family, whether it was cooking or spending time with them. Some of her favorite pastimes were texting, facebooking, taking cruises, and making her weekly trip to Walmart. Some people would say her car knew how to get there by itself. She loved all animals, especially her little dogs. Most importantly, she was a caregiver at heart and she loved her family and taking care of them.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Don Sikes.

She is survived by her children: Darryl Konvicka, Dennis Konvicka, David Konvicka and wife Kay, Donnie Konvicka and wife Anna, and Dana Phillips and husband Joe; her grandchildren: Jill Whitlock and husband Josh, Ashley Guevara and husband Emir, Lesley Konvicka, and Kyle Konvicka; many friends and family members.
