1925 - 2014

Jo Evelyn McNeil 88, peacefully passed away September 8, 2014 at The Buckingham Plaza in Houston.

Jo was born in Clovis, NM on October 11, 1925 but spent the majority of her life in Texas. She was a cheerleader and most favorite at Borger High School and attended college in Canyon, Texas. She worked for Huber Oil Company until becoming a full time homemaker.

She is predeceased by her husband Ernest McNeil, parents Cecil & Myrtle House & her sister Bernice Barger.

She leaves her daughter Sue Hawkins Hewitt & spouse Gary Hewitt, her son Gary W. Hawkins & his spouse Cynthia Cagle Hawkins. Jo was blessed with 4 grandchildren Amy Kolflat, Erin Lynch, Hunter Hawkins, Sam Hawkins, 5 great grandchildren and a very special friend Harry Dreher. Jo McNeil lived a very full life, was a lady and known for her infectious laughter. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Buckingham staff for their kindness and care. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 at The Buckingham, 8580 Woodway, Houston 77063.
