*Obituary for Grady
Grady Albert McWhorter of 3111 Fairlanes 123 in Borger, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
An operator at Phillips Petroleum, he was a native of O'Brien, Texas, and had lived in Borger since 1944.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Skellytown and had farmed in Haskell County prior to moving to Borger in 1944. He went to work for U.S. Rubber, then B.F. Goodrich and later Phillips Petroleum for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife Marie of the home; three daughters - Maxine Dugan of Eufalla, Okla., Fran Woods of Fritch, and Paula Stricklin of Keyes, Okla.; one son - Donald McWhorter of Brownfield, Texas; one brother - Ray McWhorter of Rochester, Texas; two sisters - Mable Smith of Knox City, Texas, Pearl Brown of Wichita Falls; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 1st Baptist Church in Skellytown with Rev. David Johnson, pastor, and Rev. Glenn Harrington, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Borger, officiating.
Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
He was preceded in death by his daughter - JoAnn Tollison of Skellytown in December, 1970.

SKELLYTOWN - Marie Ida McWhorter-Petker, 81, died Saturday, May 5, 2001.
Services for Marie McWhorter-Petker were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at First Baptist Church in Skellytown, Tx., with Dr. Bobby Tollison, her grandson, officiating, and Rev. Fines Marchman assisting. Arrangements were under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Marie was born June 22, 1919, in George West, Texas. She married Grady McWhorter Nov. 24, 1934, in Benjamine, Tx. They moved to Borger on Nov. 5, 1945.
Grady predeceased her on June 10, 1986.
She had moved to Skellytown in August of 1970 and back to Borger in 1986.
She married Clinton Petker Nov. 28, 1991, in Borger. She moved back to Skellytown in 1995.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Jo Ann Tollison in August '70.
She is survived by husband Clinton; three daughters, Maxine Dugan of Lahoma, Okla., Fran Woods of Fritch and Paula Sticklin of Pampa; one son, Don McWhorter of Brownfield; two step-daughters, Patty Black of Borger and Loretta Wagoner of Santa Rosa, Calif., two step-sons, Dennis Petker of Skellytown and Jake Petker of Clearlake, Calif.; two sisters, Anna Toles and Juanita Maas, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Raymond Hancock of Searcy, Ark., Ben Hancock and Garland Hancock, both of Borger; 11 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
When Marie's daughter JoAnn and her husband Bob were killed in 1970, Marie and Grady raised three grandchildren, Vicki Stephenson of Borger, Bobby Tollison of Midlothian, Tx. and Dennis Tollison of Duncanville, Tx.
Family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice of Amarillo, TX, in lieu of flowers.
Pall bearers will be Dennis Petker, Mark Maupin, Ray Stephenson, Donny Cross, Vernon Purdy, Jerry Hueppelsheuser, Twan Vilas, Terry Black, Jimmy Stricklin and Russell Moore. Honorary pall bearers will be Raymond Hancock, Ben Hancock and Garland Hancock.
