*Obituary for Amos
Rev. Amos Meador, 94, of Borger, died Thursday, March 19 at the Meredith House in Pampa.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Gregory Gasaway of Levelland and the Rev. Fred Fike of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.

Rev. Meador was a native of Moody and a Borger resident for 55 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, the American Red Cross and the Ministerial Alliance. He was currently a spiritual leader at Meredith House in Pampa. He was a retired pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene from 1943-1976.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mayola Meador in 1968; second wife, Lois Meador in 1996; two sons, Bobby Joe Meador in 1934 and Douglas E. Meador in 1995; one grandson, Mark Rawlings in 1992.

Survivors include six daughters, Vermell Meador of Borger, Nelda Moore of Bethany, Okla., Kathryn Thomason of Arkadelphia, Ark., Charlotte Gasaway and Reba Meador both of Bartlesville, Okla., and Rebekah Fabian of Burke, Va.; five grandsons and one granddaughter; four great grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Ruby Mayola Meador, 60, wife of the Rev. Amos R. Meador, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, died Wednesday morning at St. Anthony's Hospital, Amarillo.

The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the church.

Officiating minister will be the Rev. D.M. Duke, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, Big Spring, who will be assisted by the Rev. Ralph West of Arlington, the Rev. Clyde Dawson, of Amarillo, and Dr. Lyle Eckley, district superintendent of the West Texas district of the denomination.

Burial at Westlawn Memorial Park will be directed by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Meador was born in Paris, as Ruby Mayola Dickson. She married the Rev. Meador in Paris on Oct. 12, 1926. They moved to Borger 25 years ago.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Doug Meador of Borger, J.T. Meador of Upland, Calif.; daughters, Miss Kathryn Meador, Miss Rebekah Meador, and Mrs. Charlotte Gasaway, all of Borger, Mrs. Nelda Rawlings of Liverpool, N.Y., Miss Vermell Meador of Pampa, Miss Reba Meador of Bartlesville; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Dickson, Wellington.

A brother, J.M. Dickson, Garland; sisters, Mrs. Martha Owen and Mrs. Joe Cornelius of Wellington, Mrs. Mayburn Bass of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Ruth Thomas of Lawton, Okla., Mrs. Maybelle Nash, of McLean and three grandchildren.

Casket bearers are the Rev. Austin Moore, Rev. Wayne Gash, Rev. Dwight Southworth, Rev. Odell Brown, Rev. Howard Smith, Rev. Jim Bell.

Honorary casketbearers are the West Tex-Anns, wives of the ministers of West Texas District.
