Mildred Marie Bowman, age 90, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Laurel Court facility. Mildred was born in Abbott, Texas and was resident of Alvin for 72 years. Mildred was a homemaker and was a member of the Methodist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Finley Murray Bowman, to whom she was married for 65 years, parents; Emerson Granville Hoyle and Amy Olivia Hoyle; sisters Loice Hoyle Hambright and Amy Hoyle Epperson, brothers; John Herbert Hoyle and Floyd Lee Hoyle.
Mildred is survived by her daughters; Peggy Bowman McCauley and husband Charles of Alvin, Texas, Carol Bowman Stevenson and partner Arlyn Simms of Huntsville, Texas. Three grandchildren; Charles Murray McCauley, Kurt Mitchell Stevenson and wife Glyna, Donna McCauley Gruetzmacher and husband David. Six great-grandchildren; Jennifer Stanley, Courtney McCauley, Scott Gruetzmacher, Matthew Gruetzmacher, Ryan McCauley and Rachael Stevenson. Three great-great-grandchildren; Ashlynne Stanley, Alyssa Johnson and Kaden Gruetzmacher, nephew Granville Hambright and niece Gloria Mercer.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Scott Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Confederate Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Peterson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scott Family, 1421 E. Hwy 6, Alvin, Texas, 77511.
