Hildagarde L. Picone (Hilda), beloved mother and grandmother, died September 27, 2011, of Cardiopulmonary Failure with advanced dementia a contributing factor. She was 93 and residing in Round Rock.

She was born Hildagarde L. Dethloff, January, 23, 1918 in Bellville, Texas. She married Leon Joseph Picone who preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by her 3 children, J. Michael Picone of Falls Church, Virginia; Patricia Mings Frey of Austin, and Elizabeth F. Abreu of Georgetown. She delighted in her children and her grandchildren, Scott Picone, the late Brian Picone, Leah Mings Gazi, and Michael David Mings. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.

In 1965, she achieved a certification as an Operating Room Technician and eventually retired from that position at Galveston County Memorial Hospital. After her retirement, she moved to Temple and eventually Georgetown, then Round Rock, so that she could be closer to her daughters.

A brief ceremony will be held Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m. at Hayes Grace Memorial Park, 10708 State Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563. She will be buried next to her beloved husband, her mother and her father.
