Carl Oliver, 62, of Sweetwater, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating.
Burial will be held Tuesday, July 20 at City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland with graveside services under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Oliver was born May 18, 1942 in Poteau, Oklahoma and married Peggy Ellen Culpepper, July 28, 1990 in Sweetwater. He lived in Sweetwater since 1982. Oliver lived in Levelland since he was four years old. He was a Baptist. He worked in the oil field as a driller for 25 years prior to the oil bust. For the past 12 years, Oliver worked for Sweetwater Housing Authority in maintenance.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Oliver of Sweetwater; one son, Tony Oliver of Lubbock; one daughter, Stephanie Hambrick and husband Paul of Possum Kingdom; three sisters, Gladys Channell of Childress, Lois Robinson of Littlefield, and Eva Brockman of Levelland; special friend, Brandon Frazier of Sweetwater; one mother-in-law, Twila Culpepper of Sweetwater; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be co-workers, Lloyd Rasco, Charlie Franklin, Wayne Jones, Keith Ramey, Manuel Rodriquez, Larry McClintock; and nephews, Coy Pigg, David Brockman, Tommy Robinson, Michael Robinson, Levi Robinson and Michael Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Rice, Brandon Frazier, Robert Smith, Patty Bewley, Peggy Penn and Irene Mendoza.
