Services for Stansell Lloyd Israel, 74, of Ruidoso, N.M., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Geo. C. Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland with Curtis Israel officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001.
He was born March 23, 1927, in Altus, Okla. He lived in Levelland from 1928 to 1945, when he joined the Navy. He served aboard the USS Siboney during World War II. He married Betty Wood in Carlsbad, N.M., in 1959.
He was a retired oil field engineer for BJ Hughes Services. He worked in various oil fields in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma. He moved to Ruidoso several years ago and worked at Cree Meadows Golf Course.
He was preceded in death by a son, Benny Israel.
Survivors include his wife, four daughters, two sons, a brother, a sister, and eight grandchildren.
