Memorial services for Neal Rayburn Ellis of Dallas, and formerly of Levelland will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kary Prince of Paris, Texas, officiating.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006. Cremation services are under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1941 in Levelland and graduated from Levelland High School in 1960. He received degrees from both Texas Tech and The University of Texas at Austin. Neal owned and operated Neal Ellis Pharmacy continuing his father's legacy of what was originally Ellis Pharmacy. The businesses collectively serviced Levelland for over 50 years. Both men prided themselves on providing a level of service to their patients that was second to none. Over the rest of his career Neal carried many different responsibilities including: Director of Pharmacy for Cook Memorial Hospital, Levelland, South Park Hospital, Lubbock and Southeastern Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Consultant for long term care pharmacies, Examiner for the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Manager for Long's Drug in Reno, Nevada and Tom Thumb Pharmacy in Dallas. While in Levelland he served as past president for the Levelland Noon Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Spencer and Irene Ellis of Levelland.
