October 15, 1931 ~ November 27, 2020

Laura Ormsby, 89. passed away on November 27, 2020 at her home in Amarillo. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobby Wilson officiating. Graveside service will be at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Laura was born October 15, 1931 in Rosston, TX to Rastus B. Brandon and Fannie Mae Wilson Brandon. She married Jim Ormsby on December 31, 1954 in Decatur, TX and he preceded her in death in 2012. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Borger and was a seamstress, gardener and bargain hunter. Laura loved her grandkids and great grandkids, spoiling them whenever she could and was a very generous person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her sister Eva Adcock and her two brothers Herbert Brandon and JY Brandon.

Laura is survived by her son Mike Ormsby and his wife Teresa of Borger, her two daughters June Armstrong and her husband Michael of Amarillo and Linda Bible and her husband E. J. of Buchanan Dam, TX, her sister Orene Hooten of Florida and her sister-in-law Agnes Brandon of Sanger, TX and her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
