GALVESTON - Olga Lina Schaper, 86, of Galveston, passed away Friday, January 24, 2003, at UTMB Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 29th, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas Guthier officiating. Victor Schaper, Jr., Mrs. Schaper's nephew, will be the organist. Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock. The family will receive
visitors after 5 p.m., Tuesday, January 28th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Olga was born July 12, 1916, in Galveston, Texas. She was very active in First Lutheran Church. She was a member of several ladies circles and was a charter member of the Youth United group. Olga worked for many years as a volunteer for St. Mary's Hospital and was an avid supporter of the Special Olympics. She coordinated the Special Needs Bowling League for many years, as well. Olga is a former board member of the Sunshine Training Center, and she enjoyed needlework. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards with her card groups. She also enjoyed baking and being a part of her large family get-togethers.

Olga is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lina Nast; and her brother, Herman Nast, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Schaper; her daughter, Janice Schaper, of Galveston; son, Richard Schaper, and wife, Diane, of Rosharon, Texas; two
grandchildren: Brian Schaper, of HuntsviUe, Texas, and Jason Schaper, of Rosharon, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Schaper, Jason Schaper, Roy Nast, Jimmy Fundling, Julius Wedemeyer and Frank
Macaluso.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 2415 Winnie, Galveston, TX 77550.

GALVESTON — Harold Schaper, 88, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2005, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Douglas Guthier officiating. Victor Schaper, Jr., Harold's nephew, will be the organist. Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

The family will receive visitors after 5 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2005, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Harold was born July 9, 1916, in Galveston, Texas, to August and Elizabeth Schaper. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was one of thirteen children.

He is survived by three brothers, A.C. and Ray, both of Galveston, and Leroy, of Dickinson; and three sisters, Annabell Swygert, of Richardson, Mabel Schulze of Galveston, and Catherine Siefkes of Houston. Harold is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diane Schaper, of Rosharon; daughter, Janice, of Rosharon; grandsons Brian of Conroe and Jason of Houston; and many other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Olga; four brothers: Victor, Robert, Louis, and Theodore; and two sisters, Helen Walker and Ethel Mae Schaper.

Pallbearers will be Harold's nephews, Roy Nast, Michael Schulze, L. J. Schaper, Gary Schaper, Dolph Tillotson, and Joe Betancourt.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 2415 Winnie, Galveston, TX 77550.
