Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Horton Payne, 58, former Phillips resident who died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at North Plains Hospital after a long illness, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Services will be conducted at the Phillips Baptist Church, the Rev. Norris Omstead, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, Amarillo, officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under direction of Ed Brown and Sons.
Born June 21, 1908, in Texas, she was a pilot inspector for Proto Tool Co. of Los Angeles before the illness.
She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph H. Wood, 2 Smoot Street, Phillips, for several months before her death.
Survivors besides the daughter include two sons, James H. Payne, Alameda, Calif., and Morris R. Payne, Hobbs, N.M.; two brothers, William Horton, Halsey, Ore., and R.L. Horton, Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. George Davis, Dallas, and Mrs. J.E. Henry, Amarillo; and five grandchildren.
