AUSTIN, TEXAS — Melanie J. Siems Helfenstein, 85, of
Austin, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 7,1996, in Austin. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 1996, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Emken-Linton Funeral Home Texas City.
Mrs. Helfenstein was born April 20,1911, in Engle, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran
Church in Galveston for many years; Sons of Herman; The Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge No. 48, Galveston;
AARP., Galveston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis "Piggie"
Helfenstein.
Survivors are her son, Paul Michael Helfenstein of Galveston; daughters, Betty Jean Dannar of La Marque, and Henrietta Lee Starr of Austin; brother, Henry C. Siems of Livingston, and Edgar H. Siems of Webster; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard A Dickman III, Daniel Dannar,
Michael Helfenstein Jr., Kenneth A Dickman, David Dannar,
Corey Pearson. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Shipman, and Chris, Pearson.
