Hazel Ruth Bowden passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, with her family at her side. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Tuesday, J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Chapel, 523 South Main, Grapevine. Interment: Parker Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her. We celebrate her life and are joyful that she is now with the Lord free of pain and illness. Hazel was born Oct. 16, 1926, and was a longtime resident of the Grapevine/Colleyville communities before going to live with her daughter, Carol. She currently resided at Trail Lake Nursing Home where she received kind and loving care. A special thanks to Julia and Kim for taking such good care of our Mother. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Junior Bowden, and parents, Harry and Lillie Mae Velte. Survivors: She is survived by daughters, Linda Cox (Jerry) of Montgomery, Carol Frey (Kerry) of Crowley and Michelle Stephens (Dale) of Euless; along with grandchildren, Steven Williams (Christina) of The Woodlands, Shar Levin (David) of Spring, Amber Marks of Euless, Corey Frey (Deanne) of Mansfield and Taylor Stephens of Euless. She also leaves great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Christopher Williams, Alexandra and Isabella Levin, and Noah Stephens of Oklahoma. Hazel also leaves loving sisters, Opal Lorene Pritchard of Azle, Lillie Jeannine Ward of Lenox, Iowa, and Venita Joyce Haynes of Lenox, Iowa; along with several nieces and nephews.
