Graveside services for Max Thoms, 55, of Levelland will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at City of Levelland Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Levelland with Dr. Steve Vernon, pastor, officiating. Services are under direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors.

He was pronounced dead at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, May 20, near Sundown at the scene of an electrical accident. He was born on Dec. 10, 1948, in Levelland. A lifelong resident of Levelland, he married Marianne Maddera on Nov. 27, 1999, in Levelland. He attended Levelland schools and graduated from Levelland High School. He attended South Plains College prior to entering the National Guard. He served two terms on the Sundown School Board. He was co-owner of Kema Electric.

Survivors include his wife, Marianne Thoms of Levelland; his daughter, Natalie Thoms of Midland; his son, Cody Thoms of Spearman, Texas; two stepsons, Matt Reed of Levelland and Shawn Reed of Dripping Springs, Texas; his mother and stepfather, Peggy and J.C. Dean of Levelland; a brother, Brian Thoms of Levelland; a sister, Sabrina Smith of Midland; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joe Caddell, Ronny Srader, Billy Joe Collins, Lonnie Bilbrey, Dwayne Fryer, Wayne Haggerton, Casey Cannon, and Cory Cannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Marrow, Carl Schultz, Rip Lasater, Elvin Johnson, and Gene Barry.
