SANTA FE — Mr. Lawrence F. "Sonny" Johnson passed from this life Monday at his home. Sonny had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1958, previously of La Marque.
He had been a brick mason for 45 years and had been the owner of Johnson's Home and Auto, Johnson's Masonry, and was a member of the Bricklayer's Local No. 1. He was a member of the AOPA, was a past member of the Santa Fe Lions Club and Alta Loma VFD and was well known throughout Galveston County as an acrobatic pilot.
Survivors include his son, Dale B. Johnson of Houston; daughter, Deborah Ann Johnson Howard, Friendswood; grandchildren, ,Miehael D. Howard and Trad Howard, both of Santa Fe; mother, Lucille Scarbrough, BacliB; brother, Jack C. Johnson of Lewis, Colorado; sisters, Doris KarbowsM, Daingerfield, Cherie Rardin, Bacliff.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Reverend Ralph Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Doug Howard, Michael Howard, Mike Nelson, Sonny Skufca and Joe Kelly Tombrella and Jim Hayes. Honorary bearers are members of Brickmasons Local No. 1. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, 9253501.
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the charity of their choice
