Judy Lockhart Putman, 71, of Sundown, Texas, passed away at her home Saturday, April 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with ALS. At the time of her passing she was surrounded and comforted by her family.
She was born to J.C. and Frances Lockhart December 20, 1942 in Pecos, Texas. Judy attended Pecos ISD and graduated from South Plains College with an Associate of Arts Degree. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her time spent as a volunteer for the Sundown Library.
She is survived by Jimmie (J.W.) Putman, her beloved husband of 55 years, three sons, James of Lubbock, Jackie of Arlington and Dennis of Alvarado, two sisters, Jo Nita Tennyson and Zoa Brown, two brothers, Benny and Archie Lockhart, four grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services to honor her memory will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday April 24, 2014 in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel, Levelland, Texas.
Burial will immediately follow at the Sundown Cemetery, Sundown, Texas. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all members of Interim Hospice.
