Funeral services for Ervill Lamonte Pitzer Sr., 78, of Levelland will be Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the George Price Funeral Chapel with Richard Castleman, minister, Austin Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sundown Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. He died at his residence on Sunday, January 14, 2007, under hospice care.
Born on October 21, 1928 in Temple, Texas, he moved to Levelland in 1960 from Odessa. He had previously lived in Odessa. He married Barbara Scott. He was a Sales Representative for an oilfield chemical company. He was a numismatist as a hobby.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Pitzer of Levelland, two sons, Ervill Lamonte Pitzer, Jr. of Odessa, Texas, and Gober Lee Pitzer of Levelland, a daughter, Pamela Sue Pitzer-Hurt of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a brother, Billy Mack Pitzer of Temple, Texas, a sister, Joe Ann Smith of Temple, Texas, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
