ABRAMSON, JERRY L. Born May 29, 1936 in Dallas, Texas, to his beloved parents, Max and Celia Abramson, he passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas after bravely fighting cancer for many years. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas and obtained a degree in the arts from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He loved all of the arts, and after a first career with his father in the women's shoe business, the remainder of his professional activities were in various aspects of the decorative arts field. He recently retired from Matt Camron Rugs and Tapestries and The Newport Collection in Dallas, where he indulged his passion of searching Europe for fine antiques and decorative arts. He was an accomplished painter and guitarist, an avid reader, and an expert in pre-Columbian artifacts. He loved music and attending performances of The Dallas Symphony. He has been a benefactor to The Dallas Museum of Art through the years. He was a lifetime member of Temple Emanu-El in Dallas. He enjoyed being with his many friends and his family in Dallas, second cousin Tom Rosen and wife, Adrienne, and their children, Brian Rosen and his wife, Robyn, and Lauren Rosen Kentor and her husband, Bradley Kentor, and their respective children, Ella Drew Rosen and Chloe Marissa Kentor. He is survived by many first cousins. There will be a graveside service at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice., Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas (214) 363-5401
