*Obituary

Bernbaum, Phyllis Phyllis Nevelow Bernbaum was born in San Antonio on February 27, 1929 to Nathan and Esther Nevelow and passed away peacefully on July 28, 2013, in Dallas, Texas where she lived her entire adult life after attending the University of Texas in Austin and marrying Fred Jesse Bernbaum. Phyllis loved all cultural riches; food, music, art, literature, theater, dance and traditions. With this, exotic traveling and gourmet cooking were her favorite hobbies. Along with travels came collections of recipes, jewelry, furniture, art and artifacts.....an eclectic mix of treasures. Her love of travel inspired her children to follow the trend. She had fun sharing her superstitions and sometimes psychic insights. She enjoyed a rewarding social life which included garden club, gourmet club, music festivals, working camping & hiking trips. She was a loyal, fair and sincere mother, grandmother, friend, associate, pet lover; someone you could always count on. Phyllis was the sweetest lady, as sweet as they come. She will be missed and fondly remembered by both her family and friends. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Joan Bernbaum and Lynne Bernbaum Faligant and husband, Michel Faligant, her son, Bruce Bernbaum and wife, Cindy Bernbaum and granddaughters, Abby and Zoe Bernbaum. Our family would like to thank all of our mother's beautiful friends, the Legacy at Preston Hollow, Vitas Hospice Care and Apple Care and Companion for their loving care. Thank you to the Clergy and the Caring Congregation of Temple Emanu-El for their wonderful support. A memorial service will be held at Temple Emanu-El, Lefkowitz Hall 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30. 2013 with a reception to follow in Linz Hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Klein Garden Fund at Temple Emanu-El or Dallas Zoo.
