Ornish, Cynthia (Cindy) Elizabeth Cynthia (Cindy) Elizabeth Ornish was born on March 19, 1963, in Alamogordo, New Mexico at Holloman Air Force Base. She was a graduate of Richardson HS 1981 and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 with a bachelor of science Degree where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. For the last 20 years, Cindy enjoyed working for Kaye Bassman International Corporation as a physician recruiter specializing in Healthcare, where she became a managing partner. Cindy was a courageous cancer survivor since 1992 and fought her long illness with grace and dignity. She inspired everyone with her strength and determination. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the special and loving care Cindy received from her extended family in the medical profession, including deep gratitude to Faith Presbyterian hospice. Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010, 1:30p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, in the Main Sanctuary, 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas. Interment immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rabbi David Stern officiating. Cindy is survived by her parents, Dr. Irwin and Sharon Ornish, sister Andrea Ornish Berman, brother-in-law Mark Berman, nephew Ryan Berman, niece Peyton Berman and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins;and her beloved dogs, Sadie and Sophie. Pallbearers include Mark Berman, Eric Dickerson, Steve Diffenderfer, Jeff Kaye, Doug Murphy, Don Schaffer. Martin Schaffer, and Ken Swenke Cindy's favorite charities were St. Judes Children's Hospital and American Cancer Society. Cindy will always be remembered for her beautiful and contagious smile, artistic ability, great wit and talented culinary creativity.
