Cohen, Aylene "Sister" Aylene Cohen, 77, was born on November 19, 1932 to Elmer A. and Beckie Giller. A loving mother and a cherished grandmother and sister, she passed away peacefully Sunday, November 29, 2009. Born in Dallas, Texas, she spent most of her life in the Dallas and Richardson areas. After attending Woodrow Wilson High School she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. She was a selfless person who raised two adoring children, her daughter Julie (Cohen) McBride and her husband Terry McBride of Denton, TX and her son Mark S Cohen and his wife Debra (Schentes) Cohen of Lewisville, TX. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a devoted "Grammy" to her five grandchildren Bryan Kupke, Stephanie Kupke, Daniel Kupke, Aaron Cohen, and Adam Cohen. "Sissy" is also survived by her brother Sam E Giller and his wife Sheila and Paul R Giller and his wife Marjorie. She was a bookkeeper at Giller Auto Parts, the family business in Dallas since 1919. Love of her family was always first however she thoroughly enjoyed Mah Jong. She attended and was confirmed at Temple Emanuel and in later life was a member of Temple Shalom in Dallas. Her family, her friends, and her faith were sources of comfort to her during her long and courageous struggle with cancer. The family wishes to recognize the compassionate care given by Dr. Mark Fleschler, her long time physician and Texas Oncology Center at Presbyterian. Our mother loved her family immensely and unconditionally, was cherished dearly and will always be in the hearts of her family and friends. We will deeply miss her. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 2:00 pm, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park on Northwest Highway in Dallas.
