Memorial services for David Wayne "Tiger" Ritchson, 22, Borger, were at 2 p.m. today at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Tollett, pastor Borger Christian Center, officiating.
Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
He died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1996 in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo from injuries received when he fell 55 feet from an oil derrick at about 9:50 p.m. Jan. 30.
According to reports, Ritchson was taken by private vehicle to Hansford Hospital in Spoearman after the fall. He was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital by helicopter in critical condition. According to reports, he received multi broken bones in the fall.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration Association is investigating the accident, according to Steve Pendroza, OSHA's acting area director in Lubbock.
A native of Borger, he had been a lifetime resident. He was a derrick operator for Plains Plugging Company, Borger, and attended Bunavista Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father James Ritchson in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Rusty James Ritchson of Borger; a brother, James Edward Ritchson of Borger; a sister, April Lynn Ritchson of Alabama; and two grandmothers, Odessa Matthews of Borger; Geneva Fogen of Borger.
