SANFORD - A.J. Rose, 77, of Sanford, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo.
Funeral services are pending under the direction Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. Rose was born in Lindsey, Okla., and had been a Sanford resident for four years having moved here from Van Buren, Ark. He was a millwright for Brown & Root Construction Co. and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was member of Church of Christ. He married Louisa Mae Pitman in June, 1943, at Clayton, N.M.
His survivors include his wife, Louisa Rose, of the home; three sons, Johnny Rose and Joe Rose, both of Sanford, and Jack Rose of Poteau, Okla.; one daughter, Donna Webster, of Van Buren, Ark.; one brother, Monroe Rose, of Sweetwater; three sisters, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
