Wife of Sam Wesley Crowson

Services for Geneva Crowson, 87, of Lubbock and formerly of Wilson will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 in Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenny Kirk of Brownfield officiating. Interment will be in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Geneva passed from this life March 18, 2009. She was born November 15, 1921 in Hopkins County. She graduated from Tara High School of Birthwright, Texas in 1940. Geneva married Sam Crowson on September 15, 1940 in Sulphur Springs. They moved to Wilson in 1947. Sam preceded her in death on November 6, 1972. She attended Jessie Lee's Beauty School and upon graduation she became an instructor. In 1973 she went to work for TI until retiring in 1983. Geneva had been a resident of Lubbock since 1976.

She was preceded in death by three grandsons, David Mark Crowson in September 1964, Michael DeShannon Gunn in May 1996, and Michael Wade Thomas in February 2008.

Her survivors include her daughter, Linda Thomas and husband Richard of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; sons, Bobby Crowson and wife Mary of Topeka, Kan., Sammy Crowson and wife Carolyn of Lubbock, Danny Crowson and wife Margie of Seguin, and Dr. Donny Crowson and wife Mary of Dublin, Ga.; sisters, Ida Lawrence, Dorothy Clem, Lavetta Ishmael, along with 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
