DANA ELAINE PAYNE passed from this life Monday morning, July 1, 2013, at her home in LaMarque.
Born December 23, 1963 in Galveston, Mrs. Payne had been a resident of Galveston County for most of her adult life. She was a graduate of LaMarque High School and worked as a quality control specialist for Farmers Copper for 10 years. Dana loved her parents and being a mom and a wife, she lived every day to the fullest. She never complained about being sick and will be remembered for her spunky attitude. "Granny loved to cook and was good at it."
She was preceded in death by her father, George Kassler and grandparents, Basil and Winnie Clark, survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Jerry Payne; loving parents, Elaine and Gary Hickey; daughter, Candace Gray and husband, Grant of LaMarque; brothers, Kenneth Kassler, Raymond Kassler, Scott Kassler and wife, Tabby all of Santa Fe, Greg Hickey, Jon Hickey and wife, Suzanne all of Houston; grandchildren, Heather Gray, Cameron Gray, Tyler Gray and Owen Gray.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 626 Laurel Street, LaMarque, with Father Chacko Puthumayil officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hickey, Jeff Hopkins, Ken Kassler, Kris Kassler, Kyle Kassler, Raymond Kassler, Scott Kassler and Bud Payne.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, (409) 925-3501.
