*Obituary for Lois
Lois Marie (Harris) Sewell
March 28, 1925 ~ January 21, 2021

Lois Marie Harris Sewell was born on March 28, 1925 at a farm outside of Rocky, Oklahoma. She passed on to eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 21, 2021. Lois was the last child in a loving family of six. She is predeceased by the other members of the Harris family. Lois graduated from Rocky High School and worked at the Rocky State Bank, prior to marrying Gene Sewell on January 9, 1948. They lived in Borger from that date, where Gene worked in the oil refinery for close to 40 years.

Lois and Gene were members of three churches over more than a half century in the Borger area: Calvary Baptist, Phillips Baptist, and Fairlanes Baptist Church. They served in various capacities through the years in each of the three churches. Lois served in everything from cleaning up the fellowship hall kitchens to teaching girls in Sunday School.

Along with being the best home maker in Phillips, Lois worked part-time for JC Penney’s for some years, just in the fall seasons to gather together some money for Christmas gifts and missions donations.

Lois and Gene enjoyed over 53 years of marriage. She is predeceased by her son, Chuck in 1980 as well as her husband, Gene in 2001. Lois is survived by daughter Gayle White and son-in-law Ralph as well as son Donald Sewell and wife Becky. She is also survived by the following grandchildren: Bobby Sewell, Steven Sewell, Natalie White Leimback and husband Nick; Nathan White and wife Isamari; Haylee White McMurry and husband Matt; Brent Sewell and wife Lori-Beth; and Keith Sewell and wife Christy. Lois is also survived by the following great grandchildren: Zoe Leimback, Noah Leimback, Ivy Leimback, Mia White, Julius White, Adalyn Sewell, Linley Sewell, Selah Sewell, Radley Sewell, Gwyneth Sewell, Elle McMurry and Evelyn McMurry.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel. Interment is at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger

The Sewell family wants to thank the Interim Hospice organization for their compassionate and professional care for Lois - our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
