Obituary:
Delores Joan Bell was born on March 17, 1937 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Gilbert and Flossie (Sperry) Terrel. She left this life on March 9, 2015.
Growing up in Follett Delores attended the Follett schools and graduated in 1955. On August 27, 1955 Delores married Vernor Bell and to this union three children were born. Delores was always interested in the events of Follett and participated whenever or wherever she could, even dressing as a Pioneer Woman for Follett's 50th Anniversary Parade. She worked as a volunteer at the Lipscomb County Museum and worked on the Pioneers of the Prairie books.
Delores and Vernor owned and operated Bell's Department Store for 15 years. Delores was active in many clubs including the Bid & Chatter Bridge Club for 40 years, Quilters Club and Book Club. She was involved with the Friends of the Arts and a charter member of Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE). Delores enjoyed gardening, cooking and her pets. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and played the piano and organ for the church for 64 years. Delores touched many young lives through the piano lessons she taught.
Of all the things that Delores enjoyed, her biggest love was for her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; enjoying their many activities. Delores cherished her time with all her family members.
Preceding Delores in death were her parents; her daughter Melody Gay Bell; her brother Tommy Gilbert Terrel; brother-in-law Kendall Schoenhals; and nephew Jarred Parker.
Delores is survived by her husband Vernor; her son Terrel and wife Annette Bell of Follett; her daughter Suzanne Bell Funicella of Destin, FL; her grandsons, Patrick and wife Rebekah Bell of Follett and Bryan and wife Jessica Bell of Laverne, OK; her granddaughter Amber and husband Neal Kennedy of Calumet, OK; great grandchildren Chance, Kambri, Jessa, Morgan, Kendall, Alexis and Brooklyn; her sisters, Darlene and husband Marvin Born and Diana Schoenhals all of Follett; sisters-in-law, Barbra and husband Lynn Brown of Morrison, OK, Karen "Kack" and husband Derrel "Hop" Pearcy of Follett and Lovita Bedell of Slapout, OK; many nieces, nephews and friends.
