Services for Roy John Watson were held in the Christian Science Church at Lubbock, Texas. He was a well known Young County, Texas oil operator. He was born in Navarro County, Texas and brought to Young County as a small child. The family settled in the True Community, later moving to Newcastle, Texas.
Roy John Watson married Miss Elizabeth Scott of Lubbock, Texas. The couple moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1927, but still maintained an active interest in oil operations in Young County.
Survived by his sisters - Mrs. V.J. Kennedy, Mrs. Ida Cole, Mrs. Luther Larimore, Mrs. Cecil Larimore.
