Leonard L. "Pappy" Sloan, 57, Borger, died Sunday, May 22 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

A native of Drumright, Oklahoma, he had resided in Borger for 4 years and in Stinnett for over 20 years. He was a pipefitter and Welder for H.B. Zachary Construction Co., and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church.

He married Janice Elaine Morphew on Mar. 31, 1956 in Drumright, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 1989.

He married Polly Tolley on Apr. 29, 1990 in Borger.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena Childress, on March 11, 1992.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Blanch Sloan of Borger; five sons, David Sloan of Skelleytown [sic], Mike Sloan of Borger, David Tolley of Houston, Jim Tolley of Borger, and Joe Tolley of Amarillo; three daughters, Kim Wise of Skellytown, Krista Flaherty of Stinnett, and Tobie Slaybaugh of Borger; one brother, Jackie Sloan of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and thirteen grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Polly Jo Tolley Sloan, 81, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation, ATTN: Olivia’s Angels, 500 S. Taylor, Ste., 1060, #223, Amarillo, Texas, 79101.

Polly was born July 20, 1937 in Amarillo to John Stuart Johnson and Magdalena “Lena” Maria Williams Johnson. She married Leonard Sloan on April 29, 1990 in Borger. Polly enjoyed working word searches, quilting, gardening and cheating at dominos. She found great entertainment being in nature and would often like to visit bird sanctuaries.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include her daughter,, Tobie Slaybaugh and John “Pete” Gaines of Borger; sons, David Tolley and Rebecca of Pearland, Texas, Jim Tolley and wife Tonya of Fritch, Joe Tolley and wife Jill of Amarillo; grandchildren, Alicia Murphy, Jamie Gregory and husband Jon, Kristen Tolley, Brandon Slaybaugh and wife Misti, Karlye Tolley, Natasha Tolley, Justin Tolley, Dawson Tolley, Dillan Tolley; great grandchildren, Makenzie, Hayden, Jaxon, Zoe, Shae, Kennie Sue; and dear friend, Merlean Embers of Borger.
