FRITCH - Austin F. Sneed, 90, died Friday, May 20, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Southern Baptist Church with Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park, six miles west of Borger, by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Mr. Sneed was born Dec. 21, 1914, to George and Cynthia Sneed in Aubrey. He and his family of six bothers and two sisters moved to Hedley when he was a teenager.

On Oct. 8, 1938, he married Julia Folley in Donley County. They then made their home in Amarillo. He worked at the smelter and had a contracting fence business.

After raising two daughters, they moved to Pampa. Mr. Sneed retired from Cabot Corporation in 1978.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jody Sneed of Fritch and Jeanne King and husband, Buddy, of Newcastle, Okla.; two granddaughters, Kari King of Amarillo and Lori Gonzalez and husband, Carlos, of Oklahoma City; and two brothers, Willard Sneed of Amarillo and Clyde Sneed of Weatherford.

Pallbearers will be Buddy King, Carlos Gonzalez, Mike Adams, Carl Veukei, John Guy Folley, Joe Childers, Mike Geisler and Guy Folley.

The family suggests memorials be to the Panhandle Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home in Fritch.
