GALVESTON .- Glen William Childs Sr., 73, of Galveston, passed away Friday, October 8, 1999, at AUTMB hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 11,1999, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Brett Maisel of Nacogdoches, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Alta Loma, Texas. Visitation will begin after 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 10,1999, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Glen was born September 17, 1926, in Caledonia, Texas. He was the co-owner of Childs Motor Company in Galveston, He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with service in World War II. He worked at Union Carbide for fourteen years as a pipe fitter for Local Union 201. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Glen is survived by his wife, Betty Childs, of Galveston;
daughter, Kathy Beesley and her husband, Ronny, of League
City; son Glen Childs Jr., and future daughter-in-law, Maureen Conroy of Bellaire, Texas; two sisters, Sally Sutton and her husband, Gene, of La Marque; Betty Maisel and her husband, Gus, of Galveston; brother, Vernon L. Childs and his wife, Dorothy, of Galveston; two grandchildren. Kelly and Kyle Beesley, of League City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bob Childs, Brad Childs, Gary Childs, Terry Childs, Nathan Edwards and Louis V. Ciaecio.

Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation
of Houston, Texas, or to Saint Jude's Hospital.
