*Obituary
Roby - Roy H.Goolsby, 79, of Roby, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday at West Texas Medical Center in Abilene after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roby First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Roby Cemetery.
Born Jan. 27, 1897 in Wood County, he married Iva Childress [Childers] Nov. 5, 1925 in Cooper. They moved to Fisher County in 1926 from Delta County. He was a member of Roby First Baptist Church 42 years. He was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher at the church.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of the VFW. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James R. [Marie] Kinney of Abilene; a son, Lee Roy of Odessa; two brothers, Hubert of Rotan and Marvin of Odessa; three sisters, Christine Collie of Abilene, Lola Harris of Winnsboro and Lucy Durr of San Jacinto, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
